"Joseph Boutilier-After a lingering illness the death occured early Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Eric McKay, Kings Road, of Joseph Boutilier, well known Sydney resident. Deceased, who was seventy years of age, was born at Coxheath, but had lived in Sydney for the greater portion of his life, having conducted a restaurant on lower Charlotte street up until a few years ago, when ill-health forced him to retire. He was a widower, his wife having predeceased him some years ago, and surviving are two sons, Louis in Sydney and Charles in Boston, Mass., and three daughters, Mrs. McKay, Mrs. Felix Trudell and Miss Ruby, all living in this city. Several brothers, residing at Coxheath, also survive."

Informant of information on Joseph Boutilier's Death Certificate was his daughter Gertrude, with whom he was living, Mrs. "Eric" Mackay, who gives Joseph's parents names as Henry Boutilier and Mary Lee (sic-Mary Ley is his maternal grandmother, mother of Jane Bellworth] Nova Scotia Death Certificate, Registration Year 1915 - Book 24 - Page 101 No. 606
