Notes - The parentage and identity of Margaret, wife of Thomas Ley, is currently a hypothesis as the marriage record does not provide her maiden name! She is probably Margaret Mill, daughter of Thomas Mill and Margaret (---) and stepdaughter of Stephen Ley and a native of East Putford. There was one other Margaret baptized, in West Putford 10 November 1673 to John Quine and Margaret (who may have not died in infancy), but there appears to be at least one connection-possibly multiple ones-between Margaret's husband Thomas Ley and her stepfather Stephen Ley's family, and not only in naming patterns, but also in a property called "Orchard."
