      Smoker for W.G. Rothwell
      "A Very Enjoyable smoker was held Saturday night in Red Men's Hall in honor of W.G. Rothwell, who on last Friday completed thirty years as foreman of the brass foundry of the local plant of the General Electric Company. Much enthusiasm was shown and some interesting talks were given by some of the older employes [sic], who recited their experiences, and all expressing regret at the retirement of Mr. Rothwell. Refreshments were served after which Mr. Rothwell was presented with a suitable gift as a token of the high esteem in which he was held by the employes [sic]."

      "William G. Rothwell, an employe (sic) of the General Electric Company, who retired five years ago, died yesterday morning in his home at 6 Hampton avenue. Burial will be Monday afternoon in the Vale cemetery after a funeral service at 2:30 o'clock in the home of his son-in-law , C.J. Axtell, at 6 Hampton avenue. Rev. A. Russell Stevenson, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, Union street, will officiate. Mr. Rothwell was born in England. He was one of the oldest employes [sic] of the General Electric company and was one of the first to be transferred to this city from New York when the local works were organized. He was a member of the Quarter century club of the company, the Sons of St. George of New York and Champion lodge, I.O.O.F. He is survived by one daughter, a grandchild and a brother."
