      "Weddings-Axtell-Rothwell. Clinton J. Axtell, of Buffalo, and Miss Anna F. Rothwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Rothwell, of 11 Grove place, were united in marriage Tuesday night at the home of the brides' parents by Rev. A.R. Stevenson, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Only immediate friends and relatives were present. The couple left last night for Buffalo, where Mr. Axtell is employed as an electrical engineer."

      "G. E. Engineer Dies Suddenly
      C. J. Axtell, 55, 258 W. 6th St. an engineer at the General Electric Company for many years, died suddenly Friday afternoon from a heart attack, suffered while in his office. His death was not discovered until Mrs. Eckert, his secretary, entered the office.
      Mr. Axtell came to Erie from Schenectady, New York, a number of years ago. He was one of the foremost locomotive control engineers in the country and was well known for many electrical improvements. He recently returned from Europe where he was investigating new developments in England. He was president of the University Club and a member of the Lawrence Park Golf Club.
      Funeral arrangements, in charge of Donald C. Burton Funeral Home 10th and Cherry Street, have not been completed. From the Erie Dispatch Herald dated Saturday 17 October 1936."

      "b. April 4, 1883 at Axtell, Kansas. In 1887 went with his parents to Blue Rapids, Kans., where he received a High School education, after which he took a four year course at the K.S.A.C., at Manhattan, Kansas, graduated as Electrical Engineer. After a few months' work at Jackson, Mich. he went to Lynn, Mass. with the General Electric Co. and about a year and a half later was transferred to Schenectady, N.Y. plant, remained with them for several years, he later went with the Buffalo Traction Co. at Niagara Falls, as Assistant Electrical Engineer at their five power stations. Spent a year in Cleveland, Ohio, after which he returned to the General Electric Co. at Schenectady, and later was given charge of the Control Dept. of the Erie Works. He made a trip to England for the company while at Schenectady. He made two pleasure trips to South America, his hobby was pictures, he took many pictures in England and South America both still and movies. He was a member of the A.I.E.E., a Mason, and a Presbyterian. Feb. 14, 1911 he married Anna F. Rothwell, no children, he died Oct. 16, 1936 at Erie, Pa."
