THOS BOUTILIER
AGED WESTMOUNT RESIDENT DIES
A Landmark of the Westmount district was removed yesterday afternoon with the death of Thomas BOUTILIER, aged and highly respected resident of Cape Breton. Born at nearby Coxheath, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Boutilier, he lived at Westmount all his life where he successfully followed the occupation of farming. Despite his advanced years, he continued remarkably active and was about daily until about four weeks ago when he was stricken ill, and died yesterday afternoon. He was widely known throughout Cape Breton and held in highest esteem, and countless friends and acquaintances will receive the news of his death with keen regret and there will be widespread mourning over his demise. He maintained a keen interest in local and national affairs, particularly Politics & War News.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Arthur MacLELLAN, Townsend Street, wife of Ald. MacLellan; Mrs. Mary LEWIS, Sydney River. Mrs. Ella HARRIS, Detroit, Mich., is an adopted daughter. Two brothers survive, Lewis and Murray, both residing in Minneapolis.
The deceased was a member of St. Mark's Anglican Church all his life. The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon at 1:30, from his late residence with service at St. Mark's Anglican Church at 2 o'clock. Interment will be made in Hardwood Hill Cemetery.
