DUNFORD, Phillip A. Parents, George H. and Mary (PHILLIPS) DUNFORD. Born, Pasadena, Calif., Feb. 20, 1898. Married, Lucy G. ROTHWELL, Jan. 22, 1918. Children: Phillip A. Jr., Sybil M., David G. Educated, Elementary schools of Santa Clara County, San Jose High School, University of California, Los Angeles, Stanford University, School of Business Administration. Occupation: Accountant. Resident Manager, Miller & Lux. He was Office Manager for Jones Bros., San Francisco, from 1922 to 1929. In 1929 he came to Buttonwillow and went with the Buena Vista Water Storage District and has served as treasurer and assistant secretary for that organization since 1929. He has been Resident Agent for Miller & Lux since 1930. He was in the U. S. Navy during 1917-18. He has been Clerk of the Buttonwillow Union School District Board of Trustees since 1929, the year in which the Union School District was organized. Member: Elks No. 266, Bakersfield; Sumner Lodge, Druids, Bakersfield; American Legion, Frank S. Reynolds Post, Bakersfield; Kern County Farm Bureau; Associated Farmers of Kern County, Inc.; Buttonwillow Chamber of Commerce, of which he was one of the organizers and is a charter member.
