      "Joseph W. Craigen, Creighton, Ont. died at his home following a lengthy illness. He was 49 years old. Born at Erinsville, he was raised at Newburgh and Napanee, where he received his education. He moved to the Sudbury area and commenced work with International Nickel Company in 1940. He married the former Rita A. Dillon in 1943. Mr. Craigen was a shift boss at Creighton Mine and had completed 23 years of service. He was a member of St. Michael's Church, Creighton, and a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was past Grand Knight of the Creighton-Lively Council 3909. Mr. Craigen had been of Creighton Mine public school board for the past 10 years. He was an original member and promoter of the Creighton Mine Library Board. He is survived by his wife and three sons, Hugh, at St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, NS, and Gerry and Paul, at home. Also surviving are five brothers and [cut off] sisters. Requiem high mass was held in St. Michael's Church, Creighton. Internment was in Sudbury Roman Catholic Cemetery."
