      "Mrs. Johanna Hopkins. The funeral of Mrs. Johanna Hopkins, widow of the late Patrick Hopkins, was held from her residence in Tamworth on July 9, 1957 to the church of the Assumption, Erinsville. Her nephew, Rt. Rev. William J. Murphy, of Grant Rapids, Mich., said her funeral mass. Rev. J.F. Feeney, her pastor, was in the sanctuary. Mrs. Hopkins had been in poor health for the past seven years. Before that she was actively engaged as a member of the Catholic Women's League and the League of the Sacred Heart. She leaves to mourn her loss two daughters, Mrs. Fred Carriere (Margaret) and Mrs. Ignatius Burns (Rita) of Kingston; three sons, Michael J., of Smith's Falls, John and Tom, of Tamworth; four grandchildren, one brother P.J. Murphy, of Enterprise; one sister, Mrs. Thomas Murphy, of Saginaw, Mich. Honorary pall-bearers were R. F. Bell, R.K. Stinson, Peter McPhee, James Doupe, George Jordan and Ted Allore. Active pallbearers were Felix LeSage, James Way, Vincent Barrett, J.T. Burns, Tom Cunningham and Sidney Prue. Interment was in the family plot at Erinsville were committal prayers were said by Msgr. Murphy, assisted by Rev. J.F. Feeney."
