In the Morning: Veterans of Victoria County by W. James McDonald p. 164 indicates that John Daniel McNeil (spouse of Freda Casey) was a World War I veteran, born January 25 1894,and was a Corporal in the 85th battalion of the Canadian Infantry. He was buried in St. Michael's Cemetery in Baddeck.
