Bridget Flynn obtained crown land, namely the N1/2 and N 1/4 of S 1/2 of Lot 19, Con 1, on February 21, 1873, according to Sheffield Twp. abstract index books. However, according to OLRI, the N 1/2 of Lot 19, Con 1 was first purchased by Francis Hurst on (date); Hurst moved to Michigan in the 1860s. Francis Hurst is not mentioned in the abstract index books, nor is there any indication of how Bridget Flynn got the land from Hurst.
This property was known to the family as "the old homestead" and passed out of family hands in 1972, although the original structures on the property (the home, the outhouse, the barn, and other outbuildings, except the well which has been filled in,) still exist as of August 2009.

Bridget Flynn was "Buried in the presence of James Hopkins and George Flannigan and others" on April 3, 1910 according to the burial register, Assumption of BVM, Erinsville, interments for 1910, p. 259, FHL Film #2,032,032
Bridget Flynn was living in Richmond Township, Lot 11 8th Concession at time of her death according to Province of Ontario death certificate #018359, which was filled out by Bridget's son in law Edward Jordan of Forest Mills. The death certificate claims she died January 30, 1910 and the certificate dates from February 4, 1910. The reports were not made until March 31, 1910, and sent in on April 8th
Bridget gave land to her sons Michael, Philip, and Patrick in her will. The three brothers set up ways so that all three could use the land while the others were living, eventually the Flynn land passed into the hands of Michael Flynn's son John Patrick Flynn.

"This is the last will and testament of me Bridget Flynn of the Township of Sheffield in the County of Lennox and Addington and Province of Ontario, Widow, made this Thirtieth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and five....I give, devise and bequeath to my son Phillip Flynn, Fifty acres being Part of lot Number nineteen in the first concession lying along the Boundary line between the Township of Sheffield and Hungerford also being a Part of the old homestead, also being the west fifty acres of the old homestead, also the East Eighty acres of Lot number thirty-four in the eighth concession of the Township of Hungerford in the County of Hastings, after paying the mortgage which James Burns holds against the old homestead and if he does not pay off the said mortgage then the said lands willed as above to said Phillip Flynn shall go to my son Patrick Flynn. I give to Michael Flynn the north half of lot number Thirty five in the eighth concession of the said Township of Hungerford, being called the gore lot also the west Sixty acres of Lot number Thirty four in the said Eighth concession of the Township of Hungerford. I also give and devise that Patrick Flynn, my son, should have the old Homestead consisting of the north half and the north quarter of the South half of lot number Nineteen in the first concession of the Township of Sheffield, save and except the Fifty acres of the West Part along the Boundary given to Phillip Flynn, also the centre sixty acres lying between the parts willed to Michael Flynn and Phillip Flynn of Lot Number thirty four in the Eighth concession of the Township of Hungerford. I devise that neither my sons Patrick Flynn, Michael Flynn and Phillip Flynn shall either mortgage or sell the above lands given them under this will. I also devise that my three sons, Patrick, Phillip and Michael Flynn shall share alike in the expense of my funeral expense and other debts (not including the mortgage, the mortgage the said James Burns holds) also the Administration of this my last Will and Testament and also to pay for two Masses to the Priest for myself...And I nominate and appoint James Hopkins and Michael Flanagan of the Township of Sheffield, farmers, to be executors of this my last Will and Testament" Bridget Flynn makes her mark; witnesses Clinton Herbert Rose, Patrick Flanagan (both sign); an account of the estate was filed w/ Surrogate Registrar of L & A Co. by W.G. Note-John Patrick Flynn obtained a crown patent for Lot 34, Con 8, Hungerford Township, all 200 acres, on September 3, 1920, according to the abstract index books.
